St. Patrick School (Smithtown) is a member of the Catholic Middle School Athletic Association (CMSAA).  CMSAA promotes Catholic values, good sportsmanship, and teamwork through interscholastic athletic competition among middle schools in the Diocese of Rockville Centre. CMSAA is comprised of roughly 20 Parish and Regional Schools across Long Island.

This league is open to middle school students (grades 6, 7, and 8).  This program is run strictly by volunteers, from our school representative to our parent coaches.  The values of teamwork, collaboration, sportsman-like attitude, and healthy competition are emphasized.

MIDDLE SCHOOL SPORTS AT SPS

St. Patrick School participates in the following CMSAA sports:

Fall: Soccer (Boys & Girls); Cross Country (Boys & Girls)

Winter: Basketball (Boys & Girls); Bowling (Co-Ed)

Spring: Baseball (Boys); Softball (Girls); Lacrosse (Boys & Girls); Volleyball (Girls & Co-Ed)

The CMSAA program at St. Patrick School is a travel program.  Games and meets take place across Long Island (in both Nassau and Suffolk counties).  Most CMSAA activities take place after school; however, some activities (e.g., cross country) may take place on weekends.  Practice times and locations are at the discretion of the coaches.

All students must have a recent physical on file (within the past year) and must submit a Medical Update Form (link provided on this page).  Both items are required prior to the start of the season in order to receive medical clearance to participate.  If you have any questions about medical clearance, please contact the School Nurse at hfallon7172@spssmith.org or 631-724-0285.

All volunteers must be Virtus-trained prior to working with the players in any capacity.  The link to the Diocese of Rockville Centre Virtus Training is available on this page.
